For years, the Duggar family from rural Arkansas has allowed their lives to be filmed for the hit TV series “19 Kids & Counting” and its spin-off, “Counting On.” Although they never imagined raising so many children, fans still admired the way parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar were able to maintain order and harmony. Other viewers praised the Duggar couple’s determination to live by their faith and traditional values. However, the streak came to an abrupt end after the now infamous scandal surrounding Josh Duggar’s oldest son came to light. But despite the stain on the family’s reputation, the other Duggar kids still have plenty of fans who love hearing about all the moves, weddings and births that have taken place since the series ended.
Many of the grown Duggar children have Instagram accounts: some are also on Twitter, and a few even have their own websites. The siblings also follow each other, and it’s not unusual to see the name Joy Duggar among the likes on her sister Jinger Duggar’s post, for example. So which of the members of the mega-television family is the most active on social networks? The answer may surprise you.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar write about family events
The heads of the huge clan are Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. With just 14 children, they were interviewed for an article in Parents magazine in 2003, which soon led to their two lucrative reality shows. Then their lives were turned upside down by the news that their oldest son, Josh Duggar, had been arrested for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. The devastated parents stood by their son as he went through the trial and sentencing, with Michelle even writing a leniency letter to the judge. Josh was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison and his parents have since chosen to remain in seclusion.
The couple has a family website and an Instagram account where they share news such as Jim Bob’s (unsuccessful) run for the Arkansas State Senate in 2021. However, their account has been inactive in recent months. Jim Bob and Michelle’s last Insta post was in May 2022 when they congratulated son Jedidiah on the birth of his new son. Since then, two more grandchildren have been born and two more children have announced pregnancies — bringing the total number of “GrandDuggars” to a whopping 27. But Duggar Central has been strangely silent.

Jill Duggar Dillard keeps her fans updated
Jill Duggar Dillard is the fourth of 19 siblings, but in recent years she has carved out a life independent of her family. Married to attorney Derick Dillard, she has a cold relationship with her parents due to her father’s controlling ways. Now, her fans follow her on her website and active Instagram account, where she shares photos of family outings, date nights, and relatable moments (like an overflowing laundry basket). Jill is also open about her personal struggles. For example, when brother Josh Duggar was convicted of his crimes, she and Derick posted their stern reaction. In the fall of 2021, Jill revealed that she had miscarried in the first weeks of her new pregnancy.
2022 has been especially busy for Dillards so far, as Derick earned his law license and started a new job in Oklahoma. The family moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas for an easier commute. Best of all, Jill gave birth to her third son, Frederick Michael Dillard, on July 7. Strangely, her page went silent immediately afterwards and then Jill’s return to Insta left fans scratching their heads as she explained that the family had been ‘locked down’. down and unable to post for a while.” Jill has since shared a scary postpartum health update about needing gallbladder surgery. Fortunately, she has recovered and is finally getting back to her normal life as a mom, picnics in the backyard, and trips to the park.
Jinger Duggar is promoting her new projects online
Jinger Duggar Vuolo and her husband Jeremy Vuolo have traded their quiet life in Arkansas for a busier one in Los Angeles. Jeremy, a former professional soccer player, recently graduated from seminary and works in the ministry. The couple is still busy raising their daughters, enjoying life in the big city and working on projects like their recent children’s book, “You Can Shine So Bright!”
Jinger maintains her own Instagram page, as does Jeremy; they post about their vacations, milestones, and family trips. They also have a YouTube channel where they share cooking news and tips. Sometimes they face backlash, like when Jinger revealed her new hobby of decorating expensive Nike sneakers, or when Jeremy and his brother took their dad fishing and caught a small shark (he threw the fish back, FYI). They were also outraged by questionable reporting in their children’s book, which they promoted online.
But fans are most excited to see signs that Jinger has evolved from her strict upbringing, like wearing pants and going to concerts (the elder Duggars didn’t let their kids listen to secular artists, so seeing Michael Bublé was a big turnoff). Most recently, Jinger announced a super unexpected move: After three years of living in a rented house, the Vuolos bought their own home.
Jessa Duggar Seewald often puts her mother to shame
Jessa Duggar Seewald is the fifth of 19 Duggar offspring, sandwiched between Jill and Jinger Duggar. She and her husband, Ben Seewald, have four children, ranging in age from 6-year-old Spurgeon to 1-year-old Fern. On her Instagram account, she entertains fans with cute childhood snaps and updates on the renovation of her new home. She also occasionally works with sponsors to earn a commission by promoting their products.
But Jessa gets a lot of flak for her attempts to show a realistic view of family life. For example, a recent photo Jessa shared with her children sparked controversy regarding Spurgeon’s weight. Followers also called her out for leaving a mess on the floor, letting toddler Ivy climb into the fridge, and photographing son Henry sleeping with a goldfish cookie in his mouth (choking hazard!). Even a video showing the kids quietly painting pictures at their new dining room table made some fans sick at the thought of watercolor paints staining the wood.
Recently, Jessa stirred the pot again when she shared a video of little Fern unwrapping a roll of toilet paper. While she tried to send a “protect these moments” message, some followers questioned whether she was rebelling against her restrictive childhood by being too permissive (via The U.S. Sun ). This Duggar daughter just can’t catch a break.
Jeremiah and Jedidiah shared their love stories
The second set of twins in the family, Jeremiah “Jer” and Jedidiah “Jed” Duggar, have a lot in common. They share a love of adventure and outdoor sports, a talent for construction (Jer has his own construction company), a strong religious faith, and a social media presence. They don’t post as often as their big sisters, but when they do, it’s usually to share some major news. Jed used the platform to campaign when he ran for a seat in the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2019, for example.
Recently, the love stories of twins have come into the limelight. Jed (photo right) entered into a quiet courtship with Katey Nakatsu and married in April 2021, just weeks after announcing their engagement. In true Duggar style, a pregnancy announcement followed five months later, and the couple welcomed son Truett Oliver in May 2022. Not to be outdone, Jeremiah revealed his courtship to Hannah Wissmann in October 2021. They married the following March, and five months later, Jeremiah and Hannah shared for the happy news that they, too, are about to add a branch to the Duggar family tree. “I am so thankful for the many blessings in life right now,” Jer wrote on Instagram. “The best is my incredible wife who brings so much joy to every day and our precious little baby on the way!”
Fans wonder why Janin’s Insta went silent
Jana, the oldest daughter of the Duggars, is something of an anomaly in her family. Still single at 32 and living at home, Jana is clearly content to stay. She’s been rumored to have courted a few men over the years (the Duggars don’t believe in casual dating), but nothing has been confirmed yet. A family friend told Distractify that Jana may not be as keen on marriage as her siblings, most of whom married within a year of courting their spouses. “I think he’s probably just waiting for the one,” said the friend.
When she’s not helping out with her younger sisters or her nieces and nephews, Jana helps brothers Jason and James Duggar with their home renovation projects and tends to her large garden. Normally a regular Instagram poster, Jana has been inactive on her page since March 2022, leading fans to wonder if she’s keeping a low profile on purpose. A few months before, Jana was charged with the crime of endangering the safety of a minor. In a statement, she admitted that she was babysitting when one of the children in her care slipped out of the house unnoticed. The case was settled out of court, according to NBC’s “Today,” but it was still an embarrassing moment for the former reality TV star. Still, her followers are hopeful that she will return to social media soon.
Joy-Anna leads a joyful life on social media
Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth followed in (most of) her famous family’s footsteps, married young and quickly settled into family life. The Forsyths have two children: Gideon Martyn (4) and Evelyn Mae (2).
Joy has an active Instagram account where she shares family photos, cute videos (like the clip of Evy saying “No!”), and the best travel experiences, like the camping trip she and Austin recently took in Alaska. However, not every post is a winner with followers. When Joy shared a photo of Gideon watching TV as “preschool,” fans wondered if it was the best way to get her son ready for school (via The U.S. Sun ). Some were also confused by the photo of Gideon with the backpack as Joy decided to homeschool him. However, other homeschooling moms have noted that they, too, use backpacks to carry supplies on field trips with mom.
To the delight of fans, Joy-Anna announced the big news on October 5 that her family is growing again. Baby #3 is due in May 2023. The Forsyths’ YouTube channel captures the tearful moment the couple found out, along with details of Joy’s first OB appointment. She is considered high risk due to a previous miscarriage and a difficult pregnancy. Joy wrote: “We would appreciate your prayers over the next [seven] and a half months for a safe pregnancy and delivery.”
